This dress is made from a cutwork tablecloth from the 1910s-1920s. Cutwork is a needlework technique in which patterns are cut from the fabric and the raw edges are reinforced with fine stitching. This tablecloth is mostly embellished in a style called brodierie anglaise, characterized by its round cutouts. Hand-mending throughout.
